Presently, the University has seven Income Generating Units and is in the process of developing more.
1.Soap and Detergent Production
This unit, based at the Department of Physical Sciences, produces a high quality multipurpose detergent branded Mubble Green, for domestic use in washing of dishes, hands and general cleaning. The product comes in different fragrances, colours and packages, and its price is pocket friendly. The unit also produces sanitizers suitable for disinfecting hands and surfaces. Products of this Unit are certified by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KeBS) and are therefore effective and safe to use. See pictures below.

2. Textile and Clothing Production
The Unit is based in the Fashion, Design and Marketing Department (FADMA) and is located next to Cosmetology Department and near the University Marketing Office. The Unit makes and markets clothing and related products such as uniforms (for students and different cadres of staff) dust coats, lab coats, overalls, personal clothes, conference bags, table cloths, curtains, sheers and their accessories and face masks, among others. The items are sold at affordable prices, depending on customer specifications. See pictures below.

Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) Short Course
This course, technically titled “Huawei Certified ICT Associate – Routing & Switching (HCIA-R&S)”, is a 16-hour course, delivered over a period of 8 weeks. The course is offered by the Huawei ICT Academy, based in the Department of Computing and Information Technology (CIT). HCIA certification validates the knowledge and skills required for basic configuration and maintenance of small to medium-sized networks. The course is a highly marketable and suitable for ICT professionals and students, and is open to MksU staff, students and external clients. Classes are held in the evening, which makes the course convenient to most trainees. Other courses available are HCIA-Security and HCIP -Routing Switching. Short Course on Solar PV
This course, technically known as “T3 Grid-Tie Solar PV”, is offered by the Centre for Renewable Energy (CREN). It is a one-week training suitable for anyone interested in working with or establishing a business in solar power technologies and associated services such as solar panels and their installation. Fees for the course is affordable and subsidized for internal clients (staff and students). CREN also offers other services such as assessment of solar energy requirements of buildings, and installation of solar energy appliances such as water heaters and lighting systems.
